Lou Gehrig displays at the top panel of the cover photo, very light, but he is there, below him is Frank Pytlak with an inscription and dated 1939.
This is meaningful because it was Gehrig's last season, and he had already been experiencing symptoms of ALS. He played only 8 games, and they first played Pytlak's Indians just 2 days after he broke his streak, meaning this was likely signed in one of his last days in the dugout. Just a month later he would retire.
Condition is good, shellacked on half the ball, you can see it is an official American League baseball.
This is a great budget starter Lou Gehrig baseball, at a price that will be tough to beat!
